Mystery Revealed

The Sacred Mystery, of life,

revealed itself to me today.

Illusive enigma

subjected to centuries of scrutiny,

theological and philosophical, became known

and crystalline clear.

Laughingly,

a child reached forth to touch my hand,

face aglow, delighting in experience.

Eyes filled to overflowing

with curiosity, wonder and awe,

looked openly into mine.

Bending my knee

to return gift of touch,

I realized the Holy of Holies

reflecting wisdom’s light,

through the memory of eternity,

alive and aware
