Life seeks to realize the Mystery

of Itself through us.

It has touched “out there” encountering war

along with ceaseless tragedy.

It has listened to the children cry,

hungry, in a world of plenty.

It has grieved the loss of wasted minds

unaware of vast potential;

And, has felt the onslaught of disease

that masks it eternality.

Life has looked through every pair of eyes,

has touched through every hand.

Its voice has been heard through every word,

It has walked through every land;

yet, Its Mystery remains unknown.

Self-renewing, flaming crucible

has been sacrificed to our experience. 

Through careless squander, blinded by our arrogance,

we stumble over definitions born of vague uneasiness

and forgotten possibility.

Still, Life whispers beneath all of this,

to those of us who would listen,

announcing that we may be more

than we’ve allowed ourselves to know.

The numbers grow

of those who lift their ears to hear the song.

Within each note of harmony

the Mystery is revealed.

Globally, through open hearts

united in acknowledgment,

awakened Presence proclaims Itself

calling, from within Humanity.

“I am Life, which has always been

existent and most holy.”

“We are Life, and have always been Scared,

in and of ourselves!”
